- Complete the Library Card Application.
- Bring One Photo ID (Required):
Any one of the following ID’s is acceptable:
Current California Drivers License, California ID, Matricula Consular, Passport, or Resident Alien card - Bring One Proof of Address (Required):
Current California Drivers License, current utility bill, vehicle registration, pay stub with printed address

Information and Facts
- If under the age of 18, a co-signing parent or legal guardian is required
- Report a lost or stolen library card immediately. Cost for a replacement card $2.00.
- One library card issued per person with a two-year expiration date
- Renew a library card free of charge at any Sacramento Public Library
- A Sacramento Public Library card may be used at all Sacramento Public Libraries, as well as Colusa County, Sutter County, City of Folsom and City of Woodland libraries
- Materials returned late are subject to daily fines. Once a card has amassed $5.00 or more in unpaid fines or fees, the card cannot be used to check out library materials until the fines or fees are paid.
